Elizabeth Wells

Elizabeth “Ann” Wells, age 66, of Cambridge, passed away at her home on Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born in Cambridge on March 27, 1960, a daughter of the late Harry R. Haywood and Leslie J. (Allen) Jackson.
Ann was a 1978 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Lincoln University in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She dedicated more than 20 years of her career to serving as a civilian surgical RN for the U.S. Army. Her expertise and advocacy led to her being invited to both the Pentagon and the White House, where she spoke to military and government officials about professional license reciprocity and licensing portability. She worked alongside Michelle Obama to help advance legislation that improved the lives of countless military families facing similar challenges.
Ann enjoyed cooking and was well known for her southern-style dishes and homemade pies. She loved running and competed in numerous half marathons and 5K races, rarely missing the annual Turkey Trot. She also cherished time spent boating with her family at Seneca Lake. Above all, Ann treasured watching her grandchildren play sports and traveling the world with her husband, embracing every moment of military family life.
Ann leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Robert J. “Bobby” Wells, whom she married on January 10, 1980; their daughter, Audrey Wells; her grandchildren, Bobby Keglovitz and HollyEva Keglovitz; her sister, Lisa (Ernie) Doan; her brother, Todd (Molly) Haywood; and several nieces and nephews.
