Levy Renewal Supports Services for Local Seniors

ZANESVILLE, OH – A renewal levy supporting The Center will appear on the upcoming primary election ballot.
The Center for Seniors, now known as The Center, is highlighting a refreshed identity while continuing its long-standing mission. Each weekday, more than 500 meals are prepared through programs like Meals on Wheels and group dining, serving individuals across the community.
“Meals on Wheels is important because we provide a meal to someone Monday through Friday and sometimes on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. We also provide the socialization here at The Center. To provide socialization, keeping people connected with individuals, keeping them able to see someone and have fun.” Center for Seniors Executive Director, Kate Paul said.
Beyond meals, The Center offers fitness classes, social activities, and educational programs aimed at reducing isolation and keeping seniors active and engaged in the community.
“I’m excited to see what the future holds for The Center. We are excited to see what the future holds. If anyone’s wanting to come in to see what we do here and experience the energy and fun we have here, you’re more than welcome to come in.” Paul said.
The levy is half mill renewal for five years and will appear on the May 5th primary election ballot. If approved, it will help continue services supporting older adults for years to come.
