Zanesville Jaycees hold Spring Food Truck Rally

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Zanesville Jaycees held their 2nd Annual Spring Food Truck Rally Saturday afternoon.
The event, held at Restoration Park, featured music, drinks, and 10 different food trucks from all around Ohio– all in an effort to help raise funds for their “Stars and Stripes on the River” event held on the 3rd and 4th of July.
“The Food Truck Rally actually started last year, around the spring, and we’ve had two so far and the Food Truck Rally supports basically 4th of July for Zanesville. Any proceeds we make will go toward Stars and Stripes on the River. Any money left over will be put toward Christmas For Kids in which we help less fortunate kids,” explained Aaron Frick, Treasurer of the Zanesville Jaycees.
The Zanesville Jaycees are a completely non-profit organization which holds multiple events throughout the year, along with helping provide scholarships for area students. Frick says without the Food Truck Rally, they would not be able to put on their 4th of July event.
This is the first time the event has been held at Restoration Park and with the success they experienced, the Jaycees hope they will be welcomed back next year.
“Restoration let us do this for free. Generally we go down to the Landing, but Restoration Park offered us this property for free for the entire Food Truck Rally which was amazing, and we hope to come back again next year. We have 10 food trucks right now, again we had a long list of food truck vendors that wanted to join but we could only select so many for the amount of space we had,” added Frick.
The event was free and open to the public. Frick explained that the vendors and food trucks gave the Jaycees a portion of their profits, while the Jaycees themselves raised funds through drink sales. Again, all funds go directly back into events for the community and scholarships for students.
The Jaycees thanked their sponsors and said they are always looking for more sponsors and members as well. For more information on the Zanesville Jaycees, including a list of their events and how to participate or donate, you can visit their website at zanesvillejaycees.org.
