Karen Johnson

Karen A. Johnson, age 85, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Altercare of Cambridge. She was born on October 12, 1940, in Cambridge, the daughter of the late George “Sidney” Garrett and Roberta P. (Nichols) Garrett.
Karen worked as a baker for Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center for nearly 29 years. She previously attended the Free Methodist Church in Byesville and the First Church of the Nazarene in Cambridge. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, tending to her flowers and spending time with her cats, “Betsy” and “S”, that brought her peace and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Roberta Garrett; her husband, Gerald L. “Jerry” Johnson, to whom she was married for 42 years until his passing in 2001; her son, Chad Neil Johnson; and her brother, Donald Watkins.
She is survived by her children: Craig (Teri) Johnson of Cambridge, Lee Ann (Edward) Secrest of Cambridge, Kelly L. Johnson of Cambridge, and Michele (Thomas) Sills of Byesville; her grandchildren: Edward, Jessica, Jonathan, Kristen, Mellynie, Matthew, Konner, Justin, Krystal, Amber, Erica, and Chloe; 17 great‑grandchildren; her sister, Sharon Andrews; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Bundy‑Law Funeral Home on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Private services will be officiated by Pastor Tina Siroki at Northwood Cemetery.
