ZANESVILLE, OH – Today, hundreds of students got a firsthand look at future career opportunities right here in Muskingum County.

OhioMeansJobs hosted a job fair today at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. Eight area schools attended the event, where students had the chance to meet with 45 local businesses and organizations all under one roof.

“It’s a great opportunity for students in Muskingum County to get in front of the employers and to find out what businesses we have here in Muskingum County, because a lot of students don’t know what we have here.” Workforce Administrator with OhioMeansJobs, Julie Metzger said.

Students walked booth to booth learning about possible careers, internships, and future employment opportunities in a variety of fields.

“This gives the students the opportunity to talk one on one with employers about employment, internships, what kind of skills they need. It’s just a great event to get up front and personal and see what these businesses do.” Metzger said.

Organizers say the event continues to grow each year and helps strengthen connections between local students and employers. To learn more about OhioMeansJobs and the services they offer, visit their website.
