David Gibbs

David R. Gibbs, age 82, of Duncan Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 16, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Richard and Margaret (Marple) Gibbs on April 3, 1944 in Zanesville, OH.
David was known by many as “Gibby.” He was a devoted Christian, and never met a stranger. He was loving father and grandfather. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and spending time with his family. More than anything, he loved God and spreading His word. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him, and the world is a darker place without his life.
David is survived by his 3 daughters, Angela Dusenbery, April (Larry) Morris, and Adonia (Doug Collopy) Grant; 3 sons, David R. Gibbs, Jr., Gene (Tracey) Gibbs, and Scott (Kathy) Gibbs; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. He also leaves behind 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine (Warner) Gibbs; second wife, Linda (Wilson) Gibbs; sister, Delaine Harris; and nephew, Bob Harris.
A service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 4pm at Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Family will greet friends for 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor John Cottrell will officiate. David will be laid to rest at Duncan Falls Cemetery following the service.
