Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week: Meet Chomper!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of the Week is a young pup with a whole lot of energy.
Meet Chomper! He is a 7-month-old chocolate lab mix who’s neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and is eagerly awaiting his forever family.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Shelter, says due to Chomper’s age and energy level, he would be best suited for an active family with older kids.
“He’s going to need a place to run, be able to exercise, he’s just a big pup! I mean, look at the size of this guy.” Gibson said. “But as you can tell he’s super loving and he’d make someone, an active family, a great, great pet. We’re going to be careful to adopt out to really small children, it’s not because there’s anything vicious or not good about Chomper, it’s because of his activity. If he would run he could knock you down and we want to be careful with that.”
Gibson also wanted to announce the roaring success of this year’s Rocking for Paws and Claws at the Linden Pub last weekend.
She says at first the rain looked like it was going to ruin the day, but eventually the sky cleared, the sun came out, and a great time was had by all.
Gibson also wanted to remind the community to get their reservations in for Feral Felines Back to the 80’s.
“Here we go! Feral Feline, I call them 4.0, it’s actually the 80’s.” Gibson said. “We’ve got about 24 tickets or reservations left. Again, local, the Tiny Tap Tavern, the Densmore’s do an amazing job and if you’re going to want in on this one, you’re going to have to get in and get your reservations. It’ll probably sell out just as quick as the first two did, we had a great Mother’s Day Edition, it was great seeing the mothers come out with their daughters.”
If you are interested in adopting Chomper or getting your tickets to Feral Felines, you can reach out to the Animal Shelter Society.
