Laura Looney

Laura A. Looney, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family while under the compassionate care of Genesis Hospice. She was born on March 2, 1960, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Delmar and Virginia (Evans) Looney.
Laura was a caring and generous woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved attending yard sales and thrift stores, going four-wheeling, camping, fishing, and berry picking. Known for her giving spirit, Laura was always prepared to help others, often collecting household items such as towels and sheets so she could lend a hand to anyone starting a new home. Above all, she treasured her family and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her kindness, warmth, and selfless nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her significant other of forty years, Doug Lane; her sons, Brad Looney and Randy Stanford; her step-sons, Harold Mummey and Thomas (Bonnie) Mummey; her beloved grandchildren, Steven (Shayann) Looney, Brandon Looney, Kaylei (Blake) Coffey, Savanah Stanford, Kyle Stanford, Jordan Harris, Kayden Harris, Anthony (Hope) Mummey, and Miley Mummey; and her great-grandchildren, Layla Looney and Lucas Mummey. She also leaves behind her siblings, Sherry (Ronnie) Fout, Pam Moore, Steve Looney, and Terry Moody; as well as her cousin, Tonya (Chuck) Cooper, all of whom will cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her son, Steven Stanford; her daughters-in-law, Stephanie Stanford and Crystal Mummey; her sister, Vicky Looney; and her former husband, Harold Mummey.
