ZCS Offering Free Summer Meals for Local Kids

ZANESVILLE, OH – Free summer meals are back for kids in the Zanesville City School District.
The district is once again participating in the Summer Food Service Program, providing free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and younger. Meals will be available at 19 different locations across the area from June 1st through August 7th.
“This is basically for kids in the summer who would like to get a lunch. Maybe their parents are working, and they want to come grab a lunch and have a breakfast. Or for kids who are out in the town, and they want to stop by one of our many locations and grab lunch.” Zanesville City Schools Food Services Manager, Kevin Williams said.
Officials say students at the select locations will also be able to grab breakfast for the following morning along with their lunch. Friday meals will include breakfast for Monday morning. There will be no meal service on June 19th or during the week of June 30th through July 4th.
“There’s a need for children to get a quality lunch and a quality breakfast. So, Zanesville City Schools has been providing this for a long time, and we just want to continue this, grow it, and make sure the kids in our town are taken care of.” Williams said.
