White Castle sliders served up at Christ’s Table

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Christ’s Table and White Castle have teamed up to celebrate National Hamburger Day with free sliders.
White Castle brought over 1,000 sliders to the Zanesville soup kitchen to serve for lunch. For Christ’s Table, it was National Hamburger Day, but for White Castle, it’s National Hamburger Month. Heidi Orndorff is an administration services manager at White Castle and was excited to help out in the kitchen today.
“Well, let’s face it, access to is a basic need so White Castle was thrilled when Lisa called and asked if we’d like to participate and help out. We just jumped right on that,” Orndorff said. “So White Castle is a family-owned company and helping other team members and helping out the communities that we’re in is very important to them.”
Keely Warden is the executive director for Christ’s Table and says a partnership like this is vital for the non-profit’s operation. Warden’s favorite part about the event was hearing the experiences from those in the dining room.
“And it’s been so fun to talk with people in the dining room. Some, it’s their first time to taste a slider and they’re really amazed about what they’re getting for lunch today. And others, it’s just brought back some really good memories,” Warden said.
You can find the serving hours for Christ’s Table or learn about how to support their mission by visiting their website. According to Warden, White Castle has already committed to celebrating National Hamburger Day with them again next year.
