Forever Dads Celebrates 20 Years

Forever Dads

ZANESVILLE, OH – June is Responsible Fatherhood Month, and one local organization is celebrating a major milestone while continuing to make a difference for dads and families across our community.

June 2nd officially marks Forever Dads’ 20th anniversary, which also coincides with Responsible Fatherhood Month. The organization has spent the last two decades helping fathers build stronger relationships with their children and families through support, education, and community involvement.

“The biggest thing for me is to think about the number of lives and the way that we’ve been able to have a part in the growth of fathers as they try to develop healthy relationships with their children and their families. For us to be able to be a part of that in the little way that we are is so meaningful and to think about the potential impact that we have.” Forever Dads Executive Director, Ryan Sheppard said.

The celebration will continue on June 9th with a ceremony honoring fathers who completed the program this year, along with alumni and community partners. Later this month, Forever Dads will also host the “Champions of Fatherhood Mini Golf Classic” at Sunrise Bowling Center featuring putt-putt, food, and educational resources. RSVP information will be available soon on their website.

“The presence of fathers in the lives of their children is the most predicted factor of childhood success. Part of what we do in our mission is to provide opportunities for fathers and families to spend quality time together. During Responsible Fatherhood Month, that’s something that’s celebrated nationwide. It’s an opportunity for Forever Dads to really showcase the activities and the programs that we host all throughout the year and to take a minute and to recognize fathers and the important role that they play.” Sheppard said.
