Busy Summer Ahead at The Animal Shelter Society

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society here in Zanesville has a busy summer ahead.
On Wednesday, they hosted a catapalooza spay event where over 50 cats came in for much needed medical treatment.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Shelter, says without her staff this marathon long day of surgeries wouldn’t have been possible.
“It took everybody on deck to take care of it, we stopped a lot of overpopulation and, really important for us, we believe in local and we kept it local.” Gibson said. “The folks got to come back and pick up their animals and what was really important, that my staff talked directly to our vet assistants to get the directions and if they had any questions, it’s just a smooth operation.”
With the Animal Shelter being a 100% Non-profit, they rely on donations and fundraisers to help care for the over 100 animals in their building.
On Saturday, June 27th, will be the 4th edition of Feral Felines and the Tiny Tap Tavern is headed back to the 80’s!
There are only around 20 reservations left, so if you’ve been wanting to support a good cause while listening to music and good friends, now is the time.
Gibson also wanted to remind the community of their 8th Annual Putt 4 Paws happening once again at Green Valley Golf Course.
“Hard to believe, Putt 4 Paws, Josh Agin is taking it back to the original.” Gibson said. “Green Valley, 8 o’clock, you take off and you should be home probably about 12, that’s how we do it, it’s a quick one. Steve Galloway and them are just fantastic with us and last year we did the night golf, it was fun, but we went back to the original.”
If you are interested in getting your reservation to Feral Felines or getting a team signed up for Putt 4 Paws on July 18th, you can reach out to the Animal Shelter Society.
