Coshocton Coach Herman Adds ‘Athletic Director’ to Loaded Resume
COSHOCTON, OH – If he wasn’t a busy man before, James Herman certainly doubled down, if not tripled down on that.
The Coshocton High School boys basketball coach is adding the title of ‘athletic director’ to his resume, while he will also continues duties as an assistant principal at the school. He takes over for Justin Smith, who left at the end of the 2025-2026 school year to take the same job a little closer to home at Heath High School.
Herman may not get sleep any time soon, but he is ready for the job, as he continues to be involved with what he truly loves.
“Anything that has to do with athletics is what I love” says Herman. “I played three sports in high school, two in college, and I love athletics. I always imagined at some point that’s where I would go.”
While it is not difficult to discover Herman’s love and passion for sports, the same can be said about the high school and community in Coshocton.
Herman adds, “It’s been a great, great move for our family, and the people are so welcoming, just so many great people here. I really love it here. If I have an opportunity to have a positive impact on some of our other programs as well as basketball, then that is something I look forward to.”
The business card for James Herman just keeps growing and growing over at Coshocton High School.
