Richard “Rick” C. Calvert, 65 of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center with his loving wife by his side.

Rick was born on April 23, 1961, in Cambridge, to the late Cecil Calvert and Lorena (Lindley) Ankrom. In his younger years, Rick was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting. He worked as a contractor throughout his life, helping with any project he could get his hands on. He also welded and was a motorcycle mechanic. Rick was a part of the Guernsey Lodge 66 F&AM, and a member of the Flying Dutchmen MC. When he was not driving on the open road, he was talking about motorcycles or tinkering on them. He also loved to listen to rock and roll and cherished his fur babies and family more than anything in the world.

Rick is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Kathy (Kimball) Calvert, whom he married in October of 1980; his son, Jesse Calvert; his stepdaughter, Erica Kimball (Ernie Harbaugh); his sisters, Christina (John) Paolozzi, and Donna Foster; his nephew, Adam Calvert; his fur babies, Rufus, Pierre, Amelia, and Grizz; a special uncle, Ted (Pam) Calvert; as well as several cousins and countless friends.

In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his many rescue animals, which he will be reunited with at the rainbow bridge.

In keeping with Rick’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Calvert family.
