Randy Shaffer

Randy Dean Shaffer, 67, of Dresden, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at Genesis Hospital while in the loving presence of his family. He was born on August 12, 1958, in Newark, Ohio, the son of Donald and Betty (Miller) Shaffer.
Randy dedicated many years of service to Owens Corning, where he worked in the Batch House and later as a Relief Supervisor. He was known as a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in providing for those he loved.
A true outdoorsman, Randy found joy in fishing and hunting and treasured every opportunity to spend time in nature. He especially enjoyed traveling to the beautiful mountains of Tennessee and looked forward to visits to Pigeon Forge, a place that held a special place in his heart. Closer to home, some of his favorite adventures were spent alongside his wife exploring Amish Country in search of hidden treasures at thrift shops and antique stores.
Family was the center of Randy’s world. His love knew no distinctions, and he embraced his stepchildren as his own, offering them the same unwavering support, guidance, and devotion that defined the man he was. He deeply cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and nothing brought him greater happiness than seeing his family together. Above all else, Randy simply loved life and found joy in the people and moments that mattered most.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky (Baldwin) Shaffer, whom he married on February 4, 1997; the children whom he loved as if they were his own, Wendy (Jeremy) Allwood, Gretchin Mallett, and Jacob (Amanda) Richards; his grandchildren, Sierra, Savannah, Sienna, Serenity, Adilyn, Sadie, and Wesson; his great-grandchildren, Cohen and Oliver; his siblings, Donna (Rod) Biggs, Greg (Kitty) Shaffer, and Melanie Antle; a very special cousin, Rod Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his beloved Yorkie companion, Cam.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Antle.
A private burial will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Hanover Cemetery on Rock Haven Road SW near Newark, Ohio.
