My father Wayne , who went by frank , was born on Feb 16th 1959 to Sharon Alexander and Wayne Westcott. He served in the United States Army from 1977-1980 and then the national guard 1981-1982. He was an expert missile launcher stationed in Germany. Although he loved serving his country and being in the national guard, he returned home in 1982 due to my impending birth and subsequent emergency delivery and a couple close calls he chose to stay home and start a aub contracting business . His goals wasn’t to get rich , but to evenly share his wealth and knowledge with the people he loved and employed. One day in 2012 he spent the afternoon taking my daughter to a grandparents day at preschool, then promptly returned to work at the old IGA on Brighton blvd. In zanesville . Theee hours later when my mom came to visit him there she found him bloody ,black and blue , and unresponsive. 3-4 men had went into the building he was remodeling and beat him to the brink of death , we still don’t know why and nvr got any answers . Somehow thru a Brain bleed, skull fractures , spinal fractures, lacerations to his liver and kidneys shattered orbital sockets , he managed to pull through. Like most soldiers he refused to lay down , he was back on a rooftop within a year .however it left him with seizures and other complications till the end of his life . He made it thru open heart surgery in 2022 and once again was back at work in less then a year . However in august of 2024 he wounded his arm at work , and like all blue collar soldiers he put a band aid on it to hide from us ,then he caught COVID at the same time and by the time he put down his hammer and realized something was wrong he fell unconscious and past away from sepsis. My father was my hero and the definition of an American soldier.please consider him for this honor ,thank you
