Anne Gilbert

Mary Anne (nee Chronik) Gilbert, age 99, of Zanesville, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Helen Parcell Home. She was born on May 21, 1927.

Anne was a debutant in the 1940s in Columbus. She was a college graduate and enjoyed playing polo with her husband, and continued to play for many years after his passing. She loved animals and helping others.

Anne is survived by her grandchildren, William Gilbert, Christina Chambless, and Randall Gilbert; great grandchildren, Will Gilbert, Blake Gilbert, Maximus Gilbert, Jake Gilbert, Riley Chambless, and Reagan Chambless. Anne’s first great-great granddaughter is due to be born in November 2026. She is also survived by her long-time friend, Cheryl Keeley. Anne will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and her son, William Gilbert.

Anne will be laid to rest at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg, OH next to her husband, Donald Gilbert.

No public services will be held at this time.
