Tessa Renee Russell, 53, passed away peacefully in her home on June 23, 2026. Born on September 12, 1972, in Fort Ord, California, she was the cherished daughter of Diana (Burns) Russell and the late Larry E. Russell.
Tessa was a woman whose gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She possessed a rare kindness that could not be taught—a willingness to help others without hesitation and a genuine concern for those around her. Whether offering a listening ear, a comforting word, or simply her presence, Tessa had a way of making people feel valued and cared for.
Her family was the foundation of her life. She shared a particularly special bond with her mother, Diana, serving not only as a daughter but as a faithful companion and trusted sidekick through life’s joys and challenges. She was a devoted sister whose love for her family was evident in all she did, and she treasured the many memories created with those she held dear.
Tessa found happiness in the simple things that brought her comfort and joy. She loved her cats and cherished the companionship they provided. She could often be found cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Ohio State football, following NASCAR races, or enjoying a game of pool with family and friends. She had a fondness for angels, finding inspiration in the comfort and hope they represented. Her playful appreciation of clowns reflected her ability to find lightheartedness and laughter even during difficult times.
More than her hobbies, however, Tessa will be remembered for the warmth she brought into the lives of others. Her smile, her caring nature, and her willingness to put the needs of others before her own made her deeply loved by family and friends alike. She leaves behind countless memories of kindness, laughter, and unconditional love that will continue to be treasured by those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving mother, Diana Russell; her siblings, Marcie Kay Russell, Vonda Russell, Larry E. Russell, and Francis Marie Hastings; her special cousin, Lisa Webb; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Tessa was preceded in death by her father, Larry E. Russell; her grandparents; and her beloved aunt, Peggy Garber.
While her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the countless memories she leaves behind. Tessa’s gentle heart and caring spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will remain in the hearts of those who loved her for years to come.
