We can assure the citizens of Zanesville that we are putting the best we have in charge,” said Zanesville Police Department Chief Tony Coury “They are making command decisions and sometimes they are making it on their own.

Coury says the promotions come with the responsibilities of needing to make impact decisions.

“They have to think on the fly and  make that quick snap decisions,” said Coury. A lot of the time, some of these decisions can be life or death.”
