Craig Steven Kokensparger, 66 of Zanesville died at 2:11 AM Sunday, June 28, 2026 at the Genesis Hospital following an eight-month courageous battle with Leukemia.
He was born August 16, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Robert G. Kokensparger and Eva K. Newell Kokensparger.
Craig was previously a member of Rolling Plains Methodist Church and was active with the Youth Group having went on several mission trips. He currently was attending Hands of Faith Church. Craig was a 1977 graduate of Maysville High School and a graduate of the Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School. He retired after 30 years of service from Ohio Department of Transportation. He later was employed for 12 years with the Wild’s as a fishing guide, having just recently retired in October. Craig was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed traveling with his wife to Tennessee and Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vickie A. Mills Kokensparger, whom he married Sept 8th, 1979; a daughter, Cheyenne (Tyler) Beckner; a son, Adam (fiancé, Sarah May) Kokensparger; a brother, Jeff (Cindy) Kokensparger and a sister, Joyce (George) Grimes; several nieces, nephews and his bloodhound, Marley. In addition to his parents Craig was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Bonnie & Leo Mills.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2026 with funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Bullock officiating. Burial will conclude at the Fultonham Cemetery.
