Homeless Hands of Zanesville to hold Rummage Sale

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Homeless Hands of Zanesville organization is holding their first “Rummage Sale” on Saturday.
The organization is looking to raise funds to help more homeless people of Zanesville get off the streets, and they have a specific focus in mind for the funds that they raise.
“So tomorrow we’re having the ‘Rummage Sale.’ It’s basically to help raise more money to get more homeless off the street. We’re looking to actually get a home at some point in time that we can get a couple in at a time, so that they can get their identification, get a job that they need, and be able to stand on their own two feet,” explained Robin DeLong, Vice president of Homeless Hands of Zanesville.
There will be something for everyone at the Rummage Sale. Attendees will be able to find clothes, furniture, workout equipment, home decor, tools, and much more. All the items for sale on Saturday have been donated from people throughout the community.
DeLong says that a friend of theirs came up with the idea for the event, and adds it’s important for the homeless people of Zanesville to know that there are people who care and are making an effort to help.
“We had a friend [that came] up with the idea for the Rummage Sale. We’ve had this event posted since May, I think, getting it ready. But we’ve been open since November, we started in November. Everybody deserves a chance, somebody’s got to help them sometime, and they’ve got to know that there’s people out there that care,” DeLong added.
The Rummage Sale will be held Saturday, July 1st at the Faith United Methodist Church across from Zanesville High School between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
