The Renner Jr. Theatre Committee to Host Summer Theater Camp

2026 Renner Summer Camp

ZANESVILLE, OH – There’s an opportunity for young actors to hit the stage this summer.

The Renner Jr. Theatre Committee is hosting a summer Camp where children ages 5-12 will be able to put on their own production of the Lion King Kids.

Ashlynn Smith, a member of the Jr. Theatre Committee, says from July 12th until the 19th, kids will have the chance to learn choreography, blocking for scenes, crafts, as well as some of the ins and outs of theater.

“We kind of wanted to keep some children and young kids more interested in the theatre.” Smith said. “Also to get them involved more in shows and the community.”

The cost to attend camp is $95 for one child but if they have a sibling that would like to tag along, it’s only $80 for each additional sibling.

Lexie Geyer, the Camp Director, says it’s been fun getting things ready for the campers and says the adults down at the Renner have been huge supporters in this endeavor.

“It’s been good, we’ve had a lot of help from other experienced people at the Renner, who have helped us figure out costumes, sets, and lots of things like that.” Geyer said.

If you or your kiddo is interested in hitting the stage at the Renner for Lion King Kids, you can head to therenner.org to get registered because spaces are limited.
