Animal Shelter Society Closed to Customers July 3rd & 4th

ZANESVILLE, OH – While the Animal Shelter Society is closed to customer service for the July 4th Holiday, we had a chance to chat with them about some tips to keep your furry friends safe and happy this weekend.
The Shelter will reopen for customers on Monday, July 6th, but there will be staff at the Shelter taking care of the over 100 animals under their roof.
April Gibson, the Executive Director, says the best things you can do are leave your pet at home for the celebrations and if you can, make a safe room for them to run too when the fireworks start.
She also wanted to remind the community that their 8th Annual Putt 4 Paws at Green Valley Golf Course is happening on July 18th.
“It’s an amazing thing, what Josh Agin has done, he’s the chair.” Gibson said. “We’ve got sponsorships coming in, we’ve got some top dogs that are coming which gets them extra recognition on the banner and a team. So, give us a call or stop by and let us know if you’d like to support that.”
Gibson says her goal for hole sponsorships is 60, but if they go over that goal she will be thrilled.
She also wanted to let the community know about an adoption special that will continue to honor America’s 250th Birthday even after July 4th.
“We have to be proud, I’m proud of everything that everybody has done for us and in our Country and The Animal Shelter is celebrating that birthday.” Gibson said. “The entire month of July, which is going to be shocking to folks but, any felines here that are 4 months and older is going to be $17.76. We obviously don’t make anything off of the felines but what our satisfaction is that they leave here, fully vetted, microchipped, and they’re going into good homes. So we’re doing our part.”
To sign up a team for Putt 4 Paws, become a sponsor, or for more information, you can reach out to the Animal Shelter Society at (740)-453-1077.
Again the Shelter will be closed July 3rd and 4th and will reopen to customers on Monday, July 6th.
