Patrick Ritchey

Patrick Ritchey

Patrick A. Ritchey, 75, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born July 24, 1950, in Zanesville to the late Leonard and Emma Goeltz Ritchey.

Pat was a 1968 graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School. He spent his entire career at Ritchey Sign Company, where he was the co-owner along with his brother Joe. Pat never considered himself above any task. He often said he would never ask someone to do a job he wasn’t willing to do himself, and he lived by those words every day. Whether in the shop, on a job site, or working alongside his employees, he led by example, earning the respect and admiration of everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

Outside of work, he enjoyed racing whether it be helping, driving his D3 car, or watching his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He also was an avid Buckeyes fan and an even bigger fan of spending time with his children and grandchildren. In the early years, you could always find him as a North Bears Coach and a ZHS Booster Supporter. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his children: Tricia (Mark) Kidd, Tara (Mike) Neptune, Todd (Julie) Ritchey, David (Sandy) Becker, Brian Whitehouse, Brandi (Roger) Dangina, Ashley (Eric) Whitehouse, and Amber Whitehouse; two brothers: Paul (Molly) Ritchey and Frank Ritchey; four sisters: Rose Ritchey, Libby Rahn, Emma (Phil) Kline, and Marilyn Allread; 38 grandchildren: Karley (Nolan), Kyle, Colton (Reily), Corinne, AJ (Jen), Austin (Annie), Taylor, Ryder, Hayden (Mel), Claire, Chloe, Cassadi, Amari, Malakhi, Lily, Mia, Gianna, Jessi, Christy, Brian, Aubree (Adam), Connor, JC, Kaiden, Ethan, Arielle, Brinleigh, Kionn, Jordan, Briana, Nakesha, and Andre; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Leonard Ritchey, Donald Ritchey, Tom Ritchey, Joe Ritchey, Jack Ritchey, and Mary Broeckel.
