DISCOver the Movement
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you’ve ever been interested in dancing, an upcoming event is scheduled to help get you started.
The Discover The Movement Summer Dance Jam is coming to the Zane State Campus Center, Saturday, July 25th. Local Dance Instructor Gracie McDonald of the A2J Crew Dance Kompany says the workshop is designed to build, motivate and inspire confidence for dancers at any level, age five and up.
“We are putting on our first ever dance convention here in Zanesville,” McDonald said. “We’re flying in industry professionals and they are going to put on a full day of dancing, from 8 to 4. They are going to bring a multitude of genres like: hip-hop, clog, tap, leaps and turns and we’re… The people we’re flying in are really, really exciting. They’ve kind of paved the way in our industry and some of them, you may have even seen on Dance Moms.”
The celebrity instructors will not only share their skills with the students but take time to share their personal experiences through a celebrity meet and greet session.
“We have Mr. Christopher Tyler coming. He is a big name in the hip hop industry. Aside from that, we have a choreographer coming. She’s going to do a leaps and turns class. Her name is Erin and she was Miss Dance of Ohio at one point. And then we have Cathy and Vivi Stein who are going to teach tap and ballet. And those were the ones who were on Dance Moms. If you watch them, you have definitely seen them at one point or another,” McDonald said.
Discounted ticket pricing is available through July 11th but attendees can register until the day of the event. So for more information and to secure your spot, you can visit dtmjam.com.
