ZANESVILLE, OH- This month’s movie night at Restoration Park comes with a mini ribbon cutting.

On Friday July 10th at 6PM, in addition to the feature film “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark”, the ZAAP Gallery will be unveiling a Mini Art Gallery for the community.

Shelby Spilker, the Director of the ZAAP, says the idea came from the free little libraries she’s seen pop up around the area but wanted to put a twist on it since Zanesville has such a vibrant art community.

“I think it’s really cool, that’s something I’ve kind of wanted to do since I took over as Director.” Spilker said. “So, my goal was to provide a lot more community outreach and pairing up with different and other organizations like non-profit organizations, so it’s been nice pairing up with Restoration Park. They do so much, they have a community garden and now we have a community gallery too.”

The movie and activities will begin after the ribbon cutting for the Mini Gallery and Spilker says there’s going to be a lot happening.

Attendees will have the chance to meet some nocturnal animals from the Wilds, participate in an Indiana Jones themed obstacle course, and grab a snack from the Happy Camper Hot Dog Truck.

Spilker added that if visiting the Mini Gallery inspires you to create, there could be an opportunity for your work to be displayed.

“We are opening it up to the community, if anybody wants to put anything in they are welcome to!” Spilker said. “We just need you to get a hold of us so we know when to get it, what the title is, price, everything like that.”

If you are interested in putting a piece into the Mini Gallery at Restoration Park, you can reach out to ZAAP at (614)-655-1287.
