Animal Shelter Society Continues America’s Birthday Celebration!
ZANESVILLE, OH – The 4th of July may have passed but the Animal Shelter Society is keeping the celebration going.
Their 17.76 Adoption Special for Felines is still going on until the end of the month.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, says many people have said this a wild special but she doesn’t think about the price, she thinks about the animals that are getting their furever families.
“It’s all about the animals, we want these animals out and into good homes.” Gibson said. “That’s why we do the application process and so the adoption price on all of our cats, all of our felines, is $17.76, so we thought that was pretty cool thing to do and as you can see we have several babies, we have some older cats that were brought off of someone’s porch that was loving and maybe got away from their owners or their owners discarded. So we have several cats here, just in the building we have 80, and then we have about 40 more in foster care.”
Gibson says at any given time there are over 100 animals under their roof that need care, attention, and medical treatments.
A great way to support the Animal Shelter is coming up next Saturday, July 18th, with the 8th Annual Putt 4 Paws at Green Valley Golf Course.
Gibson added there are still spots available if you want to get a team together and they’re always looking for hole sponsors to further help their mission.
“Sponsorships can go up until Wednesday, we just got another Top Dog from Brandywine Hospital for Pets, they’re wonderful, they’ve been big supporters.” Gibson said. “Of course, The Moyer Group, Nestle, it’s just amazing so, give us a call, stop by, go on our website, to get that team done up. A team is only $250, a Top Dog is only $500, and you get all the recognition.”
The Animal Shelter Society is also in need of clumping litter for the cats as well as bleach for their cleaning and sanitation of the floors.
