Veterans Appreciation Foundation Weekend

ZANESVILLE, OH – A weekend dedicated to honoring those who served is bringing veterans, families, and the community together across Muskingum County.
The Veterans Appreciation Foundation is kicking off a full weekend of events, with Saturday’s activities centered a The Barn in Zanesville. The day (July 18th) begins with a breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m., followed by auction items on display throughout the afternoon until 8 p.m. Every dollar raised through the auction will go directly toward supporting the foundation and the services it provides to local veterans.
“There’s about 25 people in our foundation. We’re all passionate about giving back to this community, and especially the veteran community. It’s our way of thanking the veterans. We honor them. It’s not always true that veterans come home, and we never want a veteran coming home unappreciated ever again.” President of the Veterans Appreciation Foundation, Wayne Clark said.
The celebration continues with live entertainment, as Carson Clouse takes the stage at 3 p.m. Then at 7 p.m., Steve Zemba and the band Up to No Good will keep the music going as the community comes together to support a meaningful cause.
“It’s a great night for people to come out, enjoy some great music, and show support. It’s such a great opportunity for our community to show up for the veterans.” Owner of The Barn, Jim Watson said.
That’s not the only event happening this weekend. The Veterans Appreciation Foundation will also host a luncheon at noon on Friday at the American Legion, followed by a golf outing on Sunday at Green Valley Golf Course at 9 a.m. All Muskingum County veterans are welcome to attend each event.
