Robert Furney

Robert E. Furney was found in his home in Thornville, Ohio on Monday, July 13th, 2026.

He was born on October 19, 1957 in Zanesville Ohio to the late Gene C. Furney and Evelyn Deavers Furney.

He graduated in 1976 from Lakewood High school in Hebron. He worked in food service for his whole life until retiring from the meals on wheels program a few years ago. His clients loved his kindness and devotion to his work. He was also an outstanding caregiver for his mother until her death in 2021. He was an avid cat lover and animals of all kinds.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry Furney of Northern Virginia and his wife, Anna Miller and their son Zach Furney. Also survived by his brother, Kenny, also of Virginia. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 18, 2026 with Pastor Clyde Boring officiating at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
