Darryl J. Falter

Darryl J. Falter, 63 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at his step-daughter’s residence surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 17, 2026.

He was born on September 25, 1962, in Upper Arlington, Ohio, to the late Richard L. and Donna J. (Spring) Falter.

Darryl worked various construction jobs throughout his life. He found joy in spending time at the beach with his late wife, watching and playing golf, as well as cheering on his favorite sports team, The Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Misty (James) Ferrell of Zanesville, Don (Jessie) Pickinpaugh of Zanesville, and Tawnya Pickinpaugh of Zanesville; son and daughter, Darryl Falter Jr. and Justine Falter (fiancé, Stephen Oliver); step-grandchildren, Austin, Earl, Preston, and Wesley; grandson, Bennett; siblings, Deborah (Lynda), Darla (Jeff), Doug (Vicki) and David; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

In addition to his parents, Darryl is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tina R. (Doty) Falter, whom he married on December 6, 2004, and who passed away on September 15, 2012; his step-daughter, Dianna Pickinpaugh; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Eva Spring; as well as his paternal grandparents, Leo and Clara Falter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in honor of Darryl to help with funeral expenses. Please make checks payable to Farus Funeral Home which can be mailed to P.O. Box 488, Duncan Falls, Ohio, 43734. The funeral home also accepts donations via cash or credit card.

In keeping with Darryl’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place and his ashes will be reunited with Tina’s in Duncan Falls Cemetery at a later date. The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Falter family.
