ZANESVILLE, Ohio-  Schubach Big Band gave a free concert at Zane’s Landing Park, as a way to give back to the community.

Over 100 people turned up to enjoy music performed by Big Band. Conductor David Schubach said they do this free concert because Zanesville and Muskingum County is their home.

“It’s part of the music, we are musicians, and we do this naturally,” said Schubach. “Of course we like to play events we are employed, but this is where we are playing from our hearts. We have a lot of fun when we play. We have a good time.”

Schubach said he enjoys performing next to the river. When the band plays, it feels like there is a different atmosphere in the air.

“This is a unique setting,” said Schubach. “It’s a beautiful setting. The weather is going to cooperate with us. It’s just wonderful to play outside.”

There was a variation of music throughout the concert. Songs ranged from Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy to Amy Winehouse’s version of Teach Me Tonight.
