ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ohio Means Jobs Muskingum County gathered more than 50 short handed employers looking to fill positions throughout a variety of career fields.

The 2nd annual event took place inside the spacious, air conditioned Colony Square Mall this afternoon amongst a relatively good number of job seekers.

“We have a lot of opportunity here in Muskingum County to make Muskingum Home and stay and work here and raise your family here. So, we have 54 employers here that all have openings. Some of them are doing interviews right on the spot. So we have invited the public to come out and take advantage of this. Bring your resumes and be ready to be hired,” Ohio Means Jobs Muskingum County Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Administrator Julie Metzger said.

Positions being sought ranged from the various jobs throughout the healthcare, skilled trades, manufacturing, distribution, retail, clerical and social work industries.

“Nichole and I are here promoting the opportunities that we have for our production staff in the Cambridge location and also our Zanesville location. Formerly Known as Bilco here in Zanesville. We’re just promoting openings that we have available for our growing team. Mostly production operators, starting out at $18 dollars an hour and we do have some opportunities for our maintenance team as well. We’re just trying to expand our outreach in the job market. You know with having a sister company here in the Zanesville area, trying to recruit and really just expand our outreach,” Quanex Custom Mixing Human Resources Manager Amber Gunn said.
