James Savage

James Lee Savage, 82, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. He was born on Friday, March 17, 1944 in Roseville, the son of the late Rolland ‘Banjo’ and Rosella Marie (Williams) Savage. Jim was the owner and operator for 28 years of ONE Transportation and Trueway Express Trucking Companies. Jim played drums and piano in The Savage Family Band, playing music for many venues over the years. He enjoyed visiting with his family and talking about a wide range of subjects. Jim truly was the patriarch of the family and the problem solver. Everyone came to him for advice, his door was always open for support. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. Jim is loved and will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Left behind to mourn his passing and carry on his legacy is his beloved wife of 65 years, Sandra (Rosser) Savage whom he married on June 10, 1961; his children and their spouses, Beth and Tom Dickerson, Diana and L.D. Hay, and Rodney Savage; his treasured grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Houk, Janelle (Kyle) Thomas, John (Paige) White, Madison Rosella White, Jordan Hay, Nick Savage, Zack Savage, Jake Savage, Jackson Savage; his beloved great-grandchildren, Ava Houk, Grayson Houk, Wyatt White, Walker White and James Thomas; his sister, Clara Ann Danison; his brothers-in-law, Roger (Lou) Rosser and Larry (Judie) Rosser and his sister-in-law, Diana (Kenny) Harris. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandson, Jimmy Dickerson; his nephew, Rick Danison; his siblings, Donald (Donna) Savage, O’lena May Luckett, Kay (Roger) Smith, Mary Fink and his brother-in-law, Artie Danison. Family and friends may visit to pay respects 4-8 PM, Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Ebenezer Country Church, 10080 E. Athens Rd., Roseville, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, July 31 with Eric Waltemire as celebrant. Jim will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
