Harold Kunkler

Harold R. “Butch” Kunkler 84 of New Lexington, Ohio went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2026. Born on August 24, 1941 to his parents Ambrose and Mary Imelda “Marie” (Gordon) Kunkler.

Butch lived a life defined by dedication to his Catholic faith, family, hard work and love of others. He worked in the oil fields for several years . He retired as custodian from St. Rose Catholic School where he touched the lives of many students and their families. He enjoyed farming, coonhunting and woodworking. He took pleasure in helping others. He helped build homes, cabinets and furniture.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Judy (Finck) Kunkler, Children, Susan (Steve) Hooper, Deanna (Tony) Davis, Joan Dawson, Tom (Larain) Kunkler, Mike (Renee) Kunkler, 20 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren, brothers, Gordon Kunkler and Lewis Kunkler; brothers and sisters in law: Jack and Ruth Ann Finck, Barb Finck, Jim and Jackie Finck, Dan Finck, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents along with his siblings Mary Ann Eberly, Imelda Smeltzer, Ambrose Kunkler, William Kunkler and Alfred Kunkler along with numerous brothers and sisters in law.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 3:00-8:00 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rosary at 7:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Junction City at 10:00 am with graveside services to follow. A luncheon will be held at St. Rose PCC, 309 N Main St. New Lexington. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church 1170 St. Rt 668 S Junction City, 43748.
