Janice Stephen

Janice Stephen, 85, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on August 5, 2026, at Willow Haven Nursing Home.
She was born on June 18, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Ward and Zelma (Bird) Ward. Janice was a stay-at-home mother and was married to her best friend, Neil, for over 49 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed her country music and family gatherings. Above all, she loved spending her time with her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply.
Janice is survived by her 3 daughters: Debbie Kronenbitter, Peggy (Eddie) Grable, and Holly (Kevin) McConiha; brother, Danny Ward; sister, Nancy (Russell) Tullius; grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Beth, Ted, Kaylie, Brian, Angie, Leeza, Mike; sister-in-law, Dee Ward; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Byron “Neil” Stephen; son, James “Jim” Bagent; brother, Robert Ward; sister, Sara Broassa; brother-in-law, Edmond “Frenchie” Broassa.
Calling hours will be held on Monday August 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude services at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio.
