William Burch

William Dean Burch Sr., age 80, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center. Born in Akron, Ohio, on November 20, 1945, he was the son of the late Edgar Allen Burch and Betty Lou (Callihan) Burch.
Bill proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. A hard‑working man, he spent most of his life behind the wheel as a truck driver. In his younger years he worked the oilfields, and throughout his life he stayed busy as a mechanic, always willing to help someone get a car running again. He was a former member of the Cambridge V.F.W., the Eagles, and the Moose. Bill enjoyed working on cars, hunting down good antiques, and spending time with his wife doing the things they loved.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nellie E. (Butler) Burch; three sons, William Dean (Susan) Burch Jr., James Allen Burch, and Robert Shawn (Diane) Burch; grandchildren, Thomas Alexander Burch, Samantha Jo Burch, and David William Burch; siblings, Charles C. (Connie) Burch, Sue E. (Pauly) Heddleson, and Timothy S. (Sharon) Burch; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Louise Burch, Naomi Collins and Mary Smith; brothers Thomas, Dwain, Gregory, Stephen, and Jon Mark Burch; and a granddaughter Charleigh Isabelle Burch.
Memorial visitation will be held at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., with a service beginning at 1 p.m. Mark Beros will officiate the service with burial following at Guernsey County Memory Gardens. Graveside Military Honors will be performed by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
