Bethel Community Center upcoming block party

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Bethel Community Center is kicking off a new programming year. Kids and parents are invited to a block party.
The event will be on September 9th, from one to three in the afternoon, in the community center’s front yard. Bethel Community Center’s Board Member, Jessica Stonecypher, said there will be food and entertainment as well as games for families.
“Everything’s free,” said Stonecypher. “We just hope folks come out and learn about what Bethel is and what we’re about. Also, maybe people sign up to come to our after school program.”
The block party is a way to get to know people at the Bethel Community Center and see if their after school program is right for parents and their kids. Stonecypher said the after school program is a great place for kids to go after school. She said it’s a safe and healthy place.
“It’s a way for kids to work on their homework, build confidence, and learn some life skills,” said Stonecypher.
Stonecypher said programming starts on Monday, September 11th. She said there is an open invitation to all parents to find out more about the after school program.
