Governor Sends State Assets to Help in Perry, Muskingum, and Morgan Counties Following Latest Storms
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is sending additional state assets including troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio National Guard members to help assist local first responders in Perry, Muskingum, and Morgan counties following additional rainfall with the possibility of more rainfall .
“Ohio has been in the heart of the summer storm systems that have crossed the Midwest since early last week,” said Governor DeWine. “Communities in Perry, Muskingum, and Morgan counties have unfortunately been affected again by this latest round of storms, and we are sending additional state help to local first responders.”
Local officials are asking for help with traffic control which is being provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. In addition, local officials are seeking help with clearing debris in the roadways, bridges, rights of way, and and other public places, as well as sand bagging and food distribution.
