Muskingum County Commissioners outline recovery plan and resources

Muskingum County Job and Family Services now has a dedicated phone line to explain its services nd offer disaster assistance. That number is 740-453-4538.

Donations are currently being distributed from the Old Roseville School at 76 West Athens Road in Roseville. Monetary donations to support recovery efforts are being handled by the Muskingum County Community Foundation (MCCF) and will make sure the funds reach those most affected by the storms. “Our hearts are with everyone impacted by this disaster,” said Brian Wagner, CEO of the MCCF, in an Aug. 14 press release. “The Community Cares Fund allows our community to come together to support immediate recovery efforts and help impacted residents begin rebuilding.”

The commissioners are asking the public not to self-deploy as volunteers, but instead work through official opportunities that will be announced. You can also reach out to the American Red Cross to sign up as a volunteer.

“We want our residents ot know we see you, we recognize the hardship this storm has caused, and the Muskingum County Commissioners, County EMA, first responders, and other agencies are here to support you through the recovery process,” said the press release from the county commissioners.
