LOGAN, Ohio— The SE Ohio Foodbank distributed food to Perry County residents affected by flooding through two emergency mobile markets, including a distribution in Corning supported by a $25,000 grant from the AEP Ohio Foundation.

The donation, provided through the AEP Ohio Foundation, enabled the foodbank to make a large food purchase for the Corning distribution. The foodbank served 156 families and distributed 5,148 pounds of food in Corning. AEP Ohio also sent 12 volunteers to help with the community’s flood response.

Through the foodbank’s purchasing network, the food was purchased from Fresh Connect Central, a wholesale food distributor operated by Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. Families received items including canned chicken, canned vegetables, pork and beans, peanut butter, jelly, shelf-stable milk, cereal, pancake and waffle mix, and more.

The SE Ohio Foodbank also held an emergency mobile market in Crooksville on , serving 157 families and distributing 6,567 pounds of food.

The SE Ohio Foodbank is grateful to AEP Ohio and the AEP Ohio Foundation for their ongoing support. Their contribution helped provide food to Perry County residents during a difficult time as they began the recovery process following the flooding.
