Deborah “Debbie” Mae Charleston, 68, of Kimbolton, went to be with her Lord, on August 20, 2026.
She was born June 14, 1958, in Akron, OH, daughter of the late, Lan Smith and Dorcas “Dotty” Rossiter Jones. She attended Bird’s Run Community Church. Debbie worked several jobs during her career, including Advantage Bank, Cambridge Savings Bank, was a pre-school teacher’s aide at Buckeye Trail, and volunteered at Life Wise. In Debbie’s own words “I never met a child I didn’t love.” She found that through Life Wise of Old Washington, she could teach the kids her love of Jesus. Two of her favorite bible verses were Proverbs 3:5-6 & Philippians 4:13.
She leaves her beloved husband of 48 years, Dale Charleston; daughter Christina (Michael) Reed; sister Kimberly Larrick; brothers, Michael (Paula) Smith, Randall (Debbie) Smith; sister-in-law Maxine Wilson; brother-in-law Mark Calvin; grandchildren, Shawn Lemley, Alexandrea (Daniel) Miranda, Katelyn Lemley, Samantha (Ryan) Morris, Conner Reed; great-grandson Marvin Morris; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; special fur-baby Kami; church-family at Bird’s Run Community Church; special neighbors and friends; Debbie will be greatly missed by everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ron “Butch” Smith; mother-in-law Elizabeth “Betty” Charleston; father-in-law Willis Charleston; brother-in-law Jerry Wilson; sister-in-law Louise Calvin; son-in-law Chad Lemley; and many special dogs.
IN DEBBIE”S OWN WORDS:
“In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband of 48 years. I enjoy boating, flowers, vegetable gardening, canning and spending time outdoors. I am a loving grandmother to my three grandchildren. Family is very important to me. Nothing better than a smile to make life complete.”
Per her wishes cremation has been chosen. Celebration of Life Services will take place at a later date.
