Carla Brooks

Carla A. Brooks, 45, of Philo, Ohio, went to heaven on August 13, 2026, unexpectedly.
She was born on December 14, 1980, in Miami, Florida, to the late Carl M. Brooks and Debbie Fretz.
Carla was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her greatest joy and devotion was being a mother to her 3 sons, Lane, Dakota, and Tobias; her stepdaughter, Sindel Hitchcock and mamaw to her granddaughter, Ellie.
Carla enjoyed other hobbies such as reading, working puzzles, cross stitching, genealogy of family trees, bowling, and supporting her favorite football team, “The Dallas Cowboys”; but most of all, she loved making memories with her boys and family. Carla also enjoyed visiting the beach, as it reminded her of home and loved ones.
Carla will live on through her wife, Beth Kelly, whom she met in 2009, her sons, Lane (Jessica Powell) Stires, Dakota (Samantha Miller) Stires, and Tobias; stepdaughter, Sindel (Brandon) Hitchcock; sister, Debbie Lane; niece and nephew, Danielle (Brittany) Frame, Brent (Keely) Frame; cousin, Michael Depew; father and mother in law, Ronald and Deborah Kelly; several half siblings; and her bonus sister, Michelle Zinn.
In addition to her parents, Carla is preceded in death by her brother, JR; and several aunts and uncles.
Carla will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her, her caring spirit, and generosity and many cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
In honoring her wishes, a loving cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 19, 2026, at the Circle KD Tree Farm and Event Venue at 6500 Shaver Rd, Blue Rock, Ohio at 3:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved Carla to attend.
