Jones Appointed Next Health Commissioner

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Public health is a topic seldom discussed until emergencies pop up and questions arise.

But the Zanesville-Muskingum County Board of Health made an announcement today that they have appointed Kylie Jones as the next Health Commissioner for the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department beginning November 29th. 

“So I was here at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department for about 12 years and held a couple of roles here as Health Educator and Community Health Planner,” Jones said. “And then I accepted a position in Guernsey County as their Deputy Health Commissioner. And then have been very excited to accept the position as Deputy Health Commissioner and transitioning to Health Commissioner here at Zanesville.”

Jones gained a Bachelor’s degree from Muskingum University before earning her Master of Public Health degree from Kent State University.   

“So as Health Commissioner, one of the things I really want to focus on is serving the community,” Jones said. “I’m really happy to be back in this community, I’m from this community and still currently reside in this community. And so I really want to focus on making those community partnerships, really grounding myself in the foundation that’s been set for me by Corey, our current Health Commissioner. And then moving it forward as public health continues to change.”

Current Health Commissioner Corey Hamilton will be retiring after serving 22 years with the ZMCHD.
