Library Bookstore Boasts New Hours

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The library has all sorts of books you can easily borrow but the Friends of the Library’s bookstore has items available for keeps.

Friends of the Library Vice President Beverly Bell listed some of the items they have for purchase along with a new set of hours they will be open.

“Well the Friends of the Library has a bookstore within the content of John McIntire,” Bell said. “It’s on the second floor, right off the elevator, so it’s easy access for everybody. It has a wide genre of books available, from children to adults, teens in-between. And we’ve also got CDs, magazines, paperback, hardback and the prices are very reasonable. The bookstore prices are posted. The hours for the bookstore are posted on the front door.”

Beginning in September, the bookstore will be open on Tuesday, from 4-to-6; 11-to-1 on Wednesday; Thursday, from 3-to-5; and Saturday from 10:30-to-12:30. The hours can also be found by visiting the Muskingum County Library’s website.  

“We extended the hours because there’s been such good interest,” Bell said. “The bookstore helps get money when we buy… when we sell these items. Then that money goes into The Friends of the Library treasury. And then that treasury is used for programs that are presented by the library. That money is turned over to the library for programs and events.” 

Bell noted that each of the branch libraries have either a Friends of the Library shelf or a cart with books available for purchase, in addition to the John McIntire location.
