Fall Festival falls into town

Touch A Truck

NORWICH, Ohio- The sixth annual Fall Festival at Zane Grey Museum drew quite a crowd today.

Fall Festival is a family friendly event to enjoy local shops and museums along National Road East. This year the festival featured new activities including “Touch a Truck”. Joanna Duncan Education Director Zane Grey Museum says about 20 large trucks crowded the lawn with open doors for exploring.

“The kids can touch, get up in, sit in, talk to the people who drive them because they’re probably pretty curious sometimes what these large vehicles do.”

And touch they did. The kids enjoyed hopping up in the rigs and blowing the horns. The drivers were also there to talk to the kids about careers as truck drivers. Hailee Fell enjoyed blowing the horns and wants to be a firefighter like her dad.

“It’s interesting to like see all of the trucks…and what they can do. I want to be like a firefighter like my dad so I’d like to see what they can do; what all the other trucks can do.”

The festival also featured a demonstration. A tanker was placed on its side and a tow truck showed the crowd how it gets flipped back over. Along with trucks families could make scarecrows and slime, listen to live music, tour the museum for a low cost, and eat some food.
