OLD WASHINGTON, Ohio- The Paul Bunyan show is back in Guernsey County this weekend.
The three day trade show took over the Guernsey County Fairgrounds. Ohio is known for its logging and sawmilling industry thus the large turnout each year. Enthusiasts are able to get up close and personal with different equipment used. Brad Perkins, the Executive Director at the Ohio Forestry Association says it’s a great time for people in the industry to get a look at new equipment.
“The loggers and the sawmill folks can come here, see all of that equipment in operation, and wheel and deal on it. You know…they can come here and see several different types of machinery.”
There is also a lumberjack contest at the show each year. Yesterday was the Ohio State Championship and today there was an invitational with competitors from around the world.
“The lumberjacks have their shows all over the country also. And so they come here every year. Yesterday we had our state championships. So we actually had the Ohio Championships yesterday. This is an invitational for people all over the country..from other countries.”
