Pet of the Week

2017.10.13 Pet Of Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- This week’s pet of the week is a 10-year-old wire-haired terrier mix who is ready to be your best friend.

This is Piper. She was surrendered to the shelter when her owner was no longer able to care for her. Piper is already spayed, up to date on her shots, and ready to go home today. Shelter director, Jody Murray, says older dogs like Piper make great companions and Piper could be your closest buddy.

“She’s kind of a been there done that kind of dog. She likes people. As you can tell she’s, you know…if you want a lap dog she would certainly work out well for that. Would be an excellent indoor dog.”

The Animal Shelter is also inviting the community out to it’s annual Paws and Claws Fall Benefit next Saturday. The benefit will include dinner, 50/50 drawing, and a live auction. Tickets for the event is $25.

“We’re still taking items to be auctioned off. So if anyone wants to support us by donating an item or if you need your tickets come to the shelter  or check with a board member.”

Adoption fees for Piper are $125.75. If you are interested in adding Piper to your family, or attending the benefit you can contact the Animal Shelter Society.
