One Arrested in Stolen Vehicle Pursuit

A driver of a stolen vehicle finds herself behind bars in Coshocton County.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said just before 8PM on Sunday a car was reported being stolen from a gas station in the 200 block of Chestnut Street.

About an hour later, a deputy located the stolen vehicle traveling south on State Route 83 near County Road 476 and attempted to stop it.

The deputy pursued the vehicle, which briefly stopped on county road 1A. Officers attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle, but the driver of the vehicle began to flee from officers. An officer fired a single shot. No injures or damage resulted from the shot.

The pursuit entered the City of Coshocton with multiple officers involved and ended when the stolen vehicle attempted to turn onto Chestnut Street from an alley in the 300 block.

The Coshocton County Sheriff said one female was taken into custody and two sheriff’s cruisers had minor damage. The incident remains under investigation.
