Daniel Parker

Daniel R. Parker, 79, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 10:43am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Genesis Hospice, The Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio surrounded by his family.
Born October 20, 1946 in Moxahala, Ohio to the late John and Elena Neff Parker.
Dan was Methodist by faith and a retired steel worker; his greatest joy was his family and especially his grandsons who called him “Pap,” When they were born, it was the highlight of his life, he loved to spoil them and spent many summers together swimming, riding ATV’s and motorcycles. He always had the best 4th of July parties with his family and friends.
He was an accomplished carpenter and furniture maker; he was a “do it your-selfer” and he built his own home; avid fisherman who loved to fish at the Outer Banks; loved his yearly vacation to Myrtle Beach; a huge Cincinnati Reds fan, he took his family to the 1975 World Series and cheered on “The Big Red Machine.”
Dan was a bargain shopper, he loved to go yard selling, antiquing and looking for pottery. But, most importantly was family.
Survived by his son, John (Roxanna) Parker; grandsons, Jordan Parker and Austin Parker with his fiancé, Liz Sain; special companion’s family, who were like his own children, Pam (Bruce) Willey, Paul Sparks and Beth (Gene) Hardesty; sister, Vicki (Bob) Matthews; brother, Jeff Parker; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his lifetime companion, Cheryl D. Sparks on August 28, 2026.
Calling hours will be held from 10am-12pm with funeral service at 12:00pm with Chaplin Tim Patton officiating on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
