Tanner Wollenberg
Tanner Eugene Wollenberg passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2026 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California after an acute illness.
Born September 18, 1999 in Lancaster Ohio to his parents, Terrence and Debra Westfall Wollenberg.
He was a lifelong member of Saint Rose Catholic Church New Lexington. He was strong in his faith and attended Catholic Church wherever he lived. He attended Saint Rose Elementary and was an altar boy whenever he was needed. He attended New Lexington High School and graduated at Sheridan High School in 2018. He was very active in sports including, football, basketball, and baseball. He attended Capital University and played football. He never forgot his roots and always cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He loved assisting with the football team at Oceanside High School in California.
He had a kind heart and was willing to help anyone in need. He took pride in working with developmentally delayed children at summer camp and the elderly as a N.A at a SNF during the Covid pandemic. He had a kind heart and could relate with children and the elderly the same with love and respect. He loved the gym. He was a well-respected assistant general manager at EoS Fitness gym in California and also worked as a professional mover. He was always there to help. He loved California, surfing and the ocean but has returned to Ohio for his final destination.
Survived by parents, Terrence & Debra Wollenberg; brothers, Trace (Abbi) Wollenberg, Travis (Courtney) Webb; sister. Tara (Justin) Lansing; grandmother, Dorothea Westfall and his loving girlfriend, Brittany Thomas; and his buddy, Spot. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
Preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Webb, grandfather, Donald Westfall, and grandparents Donald “Gene” and Joyce Wollenberg; aunts Janice Pingle and Donna Freitag.
His joy, memory, motivation, care and love for others made him the incredible person he was and will live on thru the family, friends, and all the people whose lives he changed and influenced for the good.
Calling Hours will be held from 5pm-7pm on Thursday September 17, 2026 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Saint Rose Catholic Church, Main and Water Streets, New Lexington, Ohio with Father Emmanuel Adu Addai as celebrant.
Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
He will be loved and missed by many and we know we will see him again.
